Aitkin Hardwoods is committed to the protection of the environment. Our strongest efforts have been in the promotion of woods and other forest based products that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The FSC is the largest worldwide environmental certifying agency. The lands of Aitkin County administered by the County Land Department and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have been certified by FSC as being managed for sustained production while at the same time following guidelines developed by FSC to eliminate activities that can damage the resource or diminish its environmental values.

As a manufacturer of wood products in Aitkin County, we have met the standards established by the Forest Stewardship Council to obtain our Chain of Custody certification or COC. We are a part of the FSC Upper Mississippi Group. Our COC number is 1163-A.

Because of the limited availability of wood or wood fiber products from these sources, there are situations that require significant time periods in order to fill orders. This situation should become less of a concern as more certified raw material works its way in the supply network.
